Texture, Tone, and a Bold Sense of Balance

This bathroom felt like a design puzzle, not because of its size, but because of how many beautiful elements we wanted to fit into it without making it feel overcrowded. The client wanted strong contrast and layered finishes but still needed the space to breathe. We saw this as an opportunity to work with boldness and restraint side by side, to let materials speak, while the design stays calm and useful. It was a joy to bring it all together.
At the centre of the design is the bold black-framed wetroom screen, placed above a fitted bath on the left.

The white tiles with fine black veining on three of the walls offer a classic visual rhythm, which we softened with a built-in wall niche, giving the client a subtle but very usable space to keep essentials tucked away. Matte black taps add a sharp modern edge without overwhelming the view.

On the front wall, the vanity and WC are designed as one clear visual unit, combining black and white finishes in a way that keeps the eye moving. A large mirror above and a window beside it bring in brightness, keeping this compact bathroom feeling open and usable at any time of day.

Texture, Tone, and a Bold Sense of Balance

What makes this bathroom truly stand out is the use of textured, 3D wooden-effect tiles on the right-hand wall. They introduce just enough warmth to balance the monochrome theme and work beautifully with the stone-effect flooring in shades of brown and grey. A black vertical heater fits perfectly within the composition, sleek, functional, and unobtrusive. This project is proof that small bathrooms can still have serious character, as long as every finish and fitting has a role to play.

“Well, what can I say! What started out as a 2 day change of my en suite, turned into a 5 day fabulous job. Whilst removing the old en suite, Damien showed me that there were major faults, e.g. black mould, rotten woodwork, collapsing floor and bad plumbing. It also involved the bathroom, as they shared a wall, hence 5 days, instead of two. I would definitely recommend Brothers Bathrooms to anyone, you will not be disappointed.”
